SIM Card
Using their local SIM card while studying abroad in Turkey might be a disadvantage for international students. Therefore, they should have a Turkish SIM card after arriving in the country. International students must have their passports with them, which is the main requirement for receiving a new card to use in Turkey. There are generally three main operators in Turkey. International students can start using a new paid or postpaid line after paying a certain fee by going to a Turkcell, Vodafone, or Türk Telekom store with their passports. The difference between postpaid and paid lines is that with the first one, you pay a certain amount at the end of the month based on the amount of your usage; with the second one, you load credit on your line in advance and use it up to the amount that has been loaded. All three operators usually offer student-friendly prices for all price ranges.
